Domaine du Joncier a classic blend with a majority percentage of Grenache. This very impressive Lirac Rouge is a testament to the Grenache grape being the ideal vessel for delivering the stoniness of the vineyard straight to the bottle.

A dark, heady style, with a burly edge to the thickly layered blackberry paste, fig and plum sauce notes. Features lots of pastis and roasted apple wood on the fleshy finish. A touch extreme in style, but will have some fans.

Domaine Tempier La Migoua is made up of heterogeneous clay that varies in color between red, ochre, and blue. At 270 meters, it sits at the highest altitude of all the vineyards. The parcel's complex sedimentation is largely due to the subduction of a tectonic plate which has surfaced the oldest rock outcroppings in the whole of the appellation. Surrounded by garrigue and pine forest, the grapes translate to earthy, gamey wines. La Migoua has the smallest amount of Mourvèdre in the blend, with the highest percentage of Grenache of the three cuvées.

Don Miguel Gascon Colosal Red Blend showcases the deeper, richer side of Bodegas Escorihuela Gascón. Distinctive flavors of dark blackberry, ripe plum and dark cherry meld with hints of oak, chocolate and mint for a big, bold, Colosal wine.

Don Rodolfo Vina Cornejo Costas lovely dark purple color with deep violet undertones. Very fruity on the nose with subtle hints of eucalyptus. Great volume in the mouth, very structured with intense, ripe tannins and a long, well balanced finish.

Together with winemaker James Foster, we created this fruit-forward petite sirah-based red. The minute you uncork the bottle, the boysenberry fruit leaps from your glass. With the soft, supple tannins, this wine is great with food or without. And I lit it at cellar temperature to allow the flavors to evolve in the glass. -Jimmy and Train Perfect Pairings: Lava chocolate cake with berries or eggplant lasagna.

E. Guigal eye: Deep dark red. Nose: Spices and mature red fruits. Palate: Round tannins with powerful complexity. A rich unctuous wine with notes of mature plums, hazelnuts and red fruits. Overall: Very rich wine full of harmony and balance.

Earthquake true to its name this is the kind of wine that will shake you up good, with burnt caramel and vanilla weaved between gobs of black cherry jam, bacon bits, coffee, and dark chocolate. Big and chewy, this might be just the wine for the cigar lover in your life.

Earthquake peppery and spicy with plenty of berry fruit (cherries and raspberries) intertwined with dusty, loamy soil, incense, and a Provencal garrigue-like note jump from the glass of this impressive wine.

El Vinculo 100% old-vine Tempranillo from a perfectly ripe and not overly hot vintage this underwent malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging for two years in American oak. As with all wines from Alejandro Fernández, the wine is unfined and unfiltered. Deeply robed, densely fruity and richly tannic with floral cedar spice and a powerful, rounded finish.

Elyse Le Corbeau (The Raven) is predominately Grenache, made in the style of the seductive and expressive wines of the Chateauneuf du Pape region of the Rhône Valley. This dark ruby-colored wine has alluring aromas of dried raspberries, wild plums, jasmine, and white pepper along with hints of vanilla and spicy earth. The richly textured palate has a subtle entry that leads to flavors of raspberries, red cherries, and strawberries. This is a "thinkers wine", very complex from start to finish. (Note: if you don't feel like thinking you still will enjoy!)

Eric Kent we love this wine for its exuberant and pretty perfume of red and black fruits and range of warm Asian spices. Bing cherry, black currant and pomegranate flavors lead to a snappy, lively finish. Almost Pinot-like in color and weight but with Grenache's signature backbone and grip, this will really shine with Mediterranean-inspired foods like grilled, herb-rubbed meats (especially lamb) and veggies, tomato based pasta dishes, and hearty cheeses. Aged in mostly neutral barrels and blended with 9% Las Madres Syrah for added layering and complexity, the Grenache is still a rambunctious youngster. If you must open one now, we recommend decanting it for an hour before you dive in. Otherwise let it rest for a year or two in the cellar and you'll be very pleased indeed!

Errazuriz beautiful deep purplish-red in colour, this wine opens with notes of sweet spice and a bit of chocolate, followed by a layer of black fruit that builds alongside varietal notes that recall black pepper, soy sauce, and roasted red pepper. Flavourful and intense on the palate, with excellent typicity and notes of smooth tobacco and graphite on the finish. Balanced texture with firm, sweet tannins and refreshing acidity that foretells its excellent cellaring potential.
