Our Pinor Noir bears all the hallmarks of a cool climate, cool vintage. It is medium to dark garnet in color with bright aromas of cherry pie, strawberries, camphor oil and roasted oak. The palate is layered with notes of cherries, sandalwood, spice, “forest floor” and lingering flavors of roasted coffee and caramel. It finishes with silky tannins and energetic acidity. Sokol Blosser Dundee Hills Pinot Noir is perfumed with notes of black cherry, the bright red fruits of raspberries and cranberries, earthy, and toasty oak char; leading to a wine smooth on the entry, red fruit carried throughout but with black cherry weighing in on the mid pallet and finishing with hints of cola and cassis. The signature Jory soil terroir with its spicy mineral finish is well represented in this wine. Possessing great depth of pure fruit flavor, strong structure, acid, and persistent length, this wine is worthy of lengthy aging, and with proper cellaring can be enjoyed for the next ten to fifteen years.

This Pinot noir is the most concentrated and complex Sonoma Coast blend we have bottled to date. Showing aromas of dark cherry, pomegranate and sweet oak, its textures are lush, yet taught, with a subtle edge of acidity. This wine is drinking well now and will continue to evolve over the next several years.

We sought our Pinot Noir in two ideal regions, Puy-de-Dôme and Méditerranée, where 15-40 year old vines in high-altitude vineyard sites enjoy hot days and cool nights similar to Burgundy. Aromas and flavors of sweet cherry fruit meld with earth and spice, balanced acidity and ripe fine tannin, to give this wine a long, smooth finish. Well-suited to pastas, pizza, BBQ, or anything eaten en-route as you search for long-lost knowledge.

Medium ruby-colored, this Pinot Noir displays aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries and cranberries. Medium-bodied, with intense savory, spicy red fruit flavors, smooth tannins and a smoky character. Excellent to pair with light meals such as white meats and vegetables.

The Underwood Pinot Noir has aromas of ripe cherries, plum and bacon. The palate is filled with sweet cherry, raspberries, and chocolate. This accessible wine is yummy with fine tannins that come together in a fruit laden finish.

Van Duzer the Flagpole block represents one of the jewels of our production. Dark red, ripe fruits move across the spectrum from dark cherries to ripe strawberries with a hint of cooked plumb alternate with licorice, cedar wood notes and subtle hints of mint and leather to please the more refined nose. The bright attack on the mid palate discloses crème brulée and Graham cracker notes. Ripe tannins create length and a savory finish.

Van Duzer the aromas imply a sense of warmth and comfort. Cherries, loose leaf black tea, brown spices and hints of smoke gently emanate from the glass in a delicate, yet not faint, manner. The wine's entry is announced by polish, concentration and complexity. Dark red fruit flavors; Van and Bing cherries and ripe raspberry are accented by mysterious spice and earth flavors that suggest the exotic. The source of the wine's complexity is the sheer purity, depth and intensity of the fruit. The concentration, a result of low yields, is given shape by a light yet sturdy frame giving the wine an airy sensation, almost pillow like on its surface, with a firm core that lends presence and persistence. Texturally one is reminded of the surface of nearly still water, polished to a high degree like a precious metal. The wine conveys a sense of elegance and grace which confidently confronts the "bigger is better" doctrine.

Wakefield Winery Black Cherry Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir grape teamed up with a luscious blend of red berries and black cherries.

Deep purple in color with dark bramble fruit aromas complemented with notes of molasses and anise. On the palate, the wine is generous and full-bodied with flavors of boysenberries, chocolate, leather and coffee accented by an integrated oak profile. Silky tannins and bright acidity provide an excellent dimension to the ample fruit. This wine is both elegant and intense, exemplifying the bolder side of the “Oregon style.” Peak drinkability 2014- 2018.

The Whole Cluster Pinot Noir is a refreshing as liquid fruit salad in a glass. This wine opens with lively red fruit aromas complimented by hints of anise, violets and a slight earthiness. Flavors mirror aromas, leading with a backbone of cherry, followed by sweet-tart strawberry and cranberry flavors with notes of vanilla and spice. Plush, fruity tannins and lively, balanced acidity lead to a crisp, lip-smacking finish. Meant to drink young. Enjoy now through 2015.
