Flavors of honeyed-pears, pineapple and creme brulee. 2011 experienced a long growing season because of chilly spring temperatures and heavy rains that delayed bud break. These conditions lightened our crop significantly, but having fewer clusters of fruit on each vine allowed the Chardonnay to develop intense aromatics and great flavor complexity

Our Director's Chardonnay is sourced from vineyards throughout Sonoma County, representing a range of climates, soil profiles and clonal selections. This diversity yields a complex and intriguing wine and allows for nuances in blending. Our fruit is harvested in the early morning hours and whole-cluster pressed. Director’s Chardonnay delivers an intense fragrance featuring peaches and figs, pretty spice notes and a subtle floral quality. The wine is perfectly balanced with luscious flavors of apple and melon, tropical fruits and a hint of citrus. It has a long finish, vanilla and spice notes, and just the right amount of body and lushness. Enjoy with crab cakes, sweet and sour pork, or baked Brie.

Franciscan Estate pale Yellow color. A fruit-forward bouquet of Meyer lemon, Bartlett pear and crisp apple mingle with hints of vanilla and flinty mineral notes. Toasted almond rounds out the nose, evoking the creaminess that is to come on the palate. The palate is bursting with vibrant fresh pear and citrus flavors with a mouthfilling, creamy, round palate.
