Sokol Blosser our Willamette Valley Pinot Gris is one of our most popular wines. No surprise there since it's considered one of the finest Pinot Gris' to emerge from this Oregon winegrowing region. The grapes are farmed from the hills; most come from our vineyards and those are organically grown. We press the grapes as whole clusters. They're given a slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel for approximately three weeks. This gives the wine a firm, focused backbone coupled with a lush creaminess. Besides the apple/fig/citrus and spice, our Pinot Gris has complex undertones of earth and mineral with aromas that will develop over time. Properly cellared, our Pinot Gris will continue to evolve for up to 10 years. PAIRINGS: Seafood (crab, oysters, halibut), herbed chicken, linguine soft artisan cheeses, fresh fruit... all harmonize brilliantly with a glass of our Pinot Gris by their side.

This fresh wine is pale blonde in color. Full of fresh citrus and floral notes on the nose, the wine is refreshing with flavors of pear, melons and light citrus. A crisp, clean finish makes this wine excellent with shellfish or fresh salads.

A straw yellow color with green highlights. On the nose, it is fresh and floral with rich fruity aromas of apple and pear. The palate is lively and fruity, yet very clean, crisp and elegant. It pairs well with a wide array of lighter cuisine, especially fish/shellfish, poultry, pastas in cream sauce and softer cheeses. It’s also an ideal aperitif.

The tasting notes from Tanzer and Wine Advocate are accurate as far as they go, but at 13 years of age, this has gained even more layered complexity and depth than they suggest. Now, it’s outrageously complex on the nose with notes of dried tropical fruit, mushroom, rose petal, and caramelized apple. In the mouth it’s rich without heaviness, with complex flavors that are hard to describe – perhaps honeyed pear, dried papaya, white mushroom, toasted almond, and beeswax? The light sweetness is balanced by bright acidity and a broad swath of chalky, salty, minerality, and the finish goes on and on.

Twisted Pinot Grigio is a medium bodied, refreshing wine with delicate floral aromas of white peach, nectarine and hints of lime. Lush stone fruit flavors are enhanced by balanced acidity and a clean finish. Enjoy this wine on its own or with Caesar salad, spicy vegetable stir-fry or grilled shrimp.

On the nose, Asian pears, peaches and a hint of dried apricots swing with guava characters. A lightened and refreshing attack leads to a savory mid-palate where subtle hints of tropical fruits, guava and passion fruits move forward with a nice structure and a refined layer of creaminess. The finish highlights a sensation of minerality that leaves a slight granular sensation to please the palate.

Villa Pozzi clear to light straw colored, this Pinot Grigio exhibits soft aromatic flavors of perfumed rose and soft honeysuckle that are attractive and indicative of the refreshing and rounded fruit style. The structure of this wine is well balanced and clean, with depth of fruit showing through and some flavors that are derived from the selected yeasts used in controlled temperature fermentation. Wonderfully complimented by a firm and crisp acidic finish. This wine is perfect for sipping on its own, or as an accompaniment to fish and seafood dishes.
