Absolutely enticing, the bright, brisk, effervescent, and beautiful Saracco Moscato di Asti offers a perfumed fragrance that never ends. Notes of fresh apricot and honeysuckle abound. This delicate Muscat drinks well with fresh strawberries, peaches or by itself.

Schmitt Sohne this is a red varietal wine from the Rheinhessen region bordered on the west by the Nahe River and on the east by the Rhine River. It offers intense fruit aromas of black cherries and plums with a hint of tobacco. This is a full to medium-bodied young wine with excellent up-front fruit that lingers on the palate. Enjoy by itself, with salads, fish, lamb and red meat.

Our Central Coast Pinot Noir displays aromas of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry fruit with a hint of earthy notes. On the palate, the Pinot offers bright flavors of strawberry and cherry combined with hints of tobacco. The bright acidity combined with sweet oak results in a lingering finish.

Our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby color with aromas of ripe blackberry, red and black currants. Once in your mouth, flavors of blackberries and ripe plum fill the mid-palate, entwined with black currant, mocha and black pepper, providing for a full-bodied and rich wine experience. The soft tannins and sweet oak balance lead to a long and lingering finish.

Our Carneros Pinot Noir is medium-bodied with cherry, strawberry and plum nuances; surrounded by light toast flavors. On entry, the wine displays bright cherry and berry flavors with earthy and sweet oak notes throughout the mid-palate. The spicy finish lingers on the palate framed by fresh fruit and silky round tannins.

Our Sonoma County Cabernet is dark garnet in color with lovely aromatics that range from dried herbs, tea and black cherry to coconut, vanilla and cocoa powder. The flavors are typical of cooler climate Cabernets including black currants, red licorice, earl grey tea and toasty oak. Our Pinor Noir bears all the hallmarks of a cool climate, cool vintage. It is medium to dark garnet in color with bright aromas of cherry pie, strawberries, camphor oil and roasted oak. The palate is layered with notes of cherries, sandalwood, spice, “forest floor” and lingering flavors of roasted coffee and caramel. It finishes with silky tannins and energetic acidity. Punch-down fermentation and varied maceration techniques provide the rich hues and ripe cherry, black currant/berry varietal characteristics. Judicious use of French oak heightens the fruit expression and adds a spicy complexity. Venom pairs well with red or mushroom-based sauces, grilled fish and any meats. Growing and producing world-class Sangiovese is not for the faint of heart. Rattlesnakes, thistle and America's most unique clone of Sangiovese are all that thrive atop Rattlesnake Hill on our Home Ranch. The 40% slope, shallow topsoil and virtually impenetrable volcanic shale are the perfect antidote for taming this vigorous varietal into producing intensely flavored grapes.

Is a brilliant vintage in Montalcino as this Rosso ably indicates. Simply released at a younger age than its older brother, the Rosso di Montalcino from Sesti displays rich, dark fruit with a delicious plush purity. There is a serious texture here with crunchy, spicy fruit, squashed strawberries and cherries leading to a mineral-inflected finish which is both focused and poised.

Shafer Hillside Select is made of 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon fruit sourced from rugged hillside vineyard blocks on our Stags Leap District Estate. Truly a "wine of a place," this Cabernet exemplifies the extraordinary richness and suppleness consistently produced in our little valley within a valley. Hillside Select is aged a full four years prior to release (three years in Alliers and Tronçais oak barrels and one year in the bottle). While enjoyable today, this wine will gain richness and maturity with up to 20 years of careful cellaring.
