On the nose it’s an elegant, complex and intense wine with violets and red fruits evocations of blackberry, chocolate, black pepper and cigar box scents while its affinity with oak lends vanilla, butterscotch and coffee notes. A wine in perfect balance showing real finesse and class, firm and round tannins, great structure, medium body and a long and persistent finish.

    Montes beautiful, intense ruby-red color, with an elegant aroma of chocolate, cigar box and coffee, plus touches of vanilla and butterscotch. Medium-bodied, soft and generous, with a long aftertaste. Decanting is recommended at least 30 minutes before serving. It can be cellared for up to four years or enjoyed now.

  • Montes Twins Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon 750ML

    Meet the twins: a masterstroke of varietal blending from Chile's winemaking legend, Aurelio Montes. On their own, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon shine, but when paired up, these two classic varieties complement each other perfectly. It's a sensational double bill: wonderful richness, structure and fruit from the Cabernet, with smooth, velvety texture from the Malbec. These varieties add up to a wine that's greater than the sum of its parts, while the oak aging contributes with subtle notes of vanilla and liqueur, and its soft tannins provide an especially elegant finish.

    Moobuzz Pinot Noir is brick red with purple edges in color. Aromas of wild cherry, toasty caramel, and fresh strawberry jump from the glass. Notes of watermelon rind, red berries, and sandalwood are noticeable on the finish.

  • Mount Eden Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 750ML

    Mount Eden Vineyards Mount Eden Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a Bordeaux-style blend of approximately 75% Cabernet, 22% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc, although the cepage varies by vintage. This high mountain, cool coastal vineyard is an unusual site for California Cabernet Sauvignon, reflecting its refreshing acidity and moderate alcohol. Fine integrated tannins buttress characteristic flavors of red currant, blackberry and earth. Recommended cellaring is ten to fifteen years.

    Deep ruby with beautiful dark cassis and cherry mingle with spicy notes of anise, tobacco, and rosemary. Additional notes of sweet herbs, clove, vanilla, and toasted oak finish with a hint of cocoa. Blackberry, cocoa, and black peppercorn unite on the layered palate with complex notes of mocha, sage, and ripe cherry.     Mt. Difficulty tThis wine highlights the slightly cooler season with lovely perfumed dark red forest berries and cherry fruits along with a hint of dried herb, adding complexity. The wine has a sweet berry entry which displays these same characters in abundance. Lovely ripe textural tannins rise gracefully out of the mid-palate to finish the wine. These are balanced by the wine's acidity and fruit, to produce a long fruit-driven finish.

  • Mulderbosch Faithful Hound 750ML

    Mulderbosch with its deep, dark colour and seductive, spicy aromas, the FH is a fine example of the blended claret style of wine. Aromas of bold ripe blackberries, cinnamon spice and light touches of peppermint characterize the nose. The entry is full and round, building to a bold core which tapers off to a subtle, lengthy finish. Savoury flavours of graphite, forest floor and cured ham are well balanced by a lively red berry freshness.

  • Nathanson Creek Cabernet Sauvignon California 1.5L

    The nose has black fruit characters (blackberry, plum) with hints of oak (spices and vanilla). The wine is medium-bodied with berry, olive and vanilla flavors, well-balanced and softly tannic.

  • Nathanson Creek Merlot California 1.5L

    Aromas of olives and herbs with a hint of American Oak and berry-like flavors make this garnet colored merlot an excellent accompaniment to red meats, hearty vegetable dishes and pasta with tomato-based sauces.

    Fresh red raspberry and ripe blackberry aromas are punctuated by layers of rich, earthy, herbal tones. On the palate, the same red, black and blueberry flavors are prominent—all wrapped in a pleasing structure and texture. Our Claret is a wine made for the table. It will complement a wide range of dishes, from grilled pork tenderloin with green olive tapenade to paella with shrimp. It will also shine with beef in all forms, from a pan-roasted filet to a braised pot roast.

  • Neyers Del Barba Zinfandel 750ML

    Neyers iIn a recent New York Times review, Eric Asimov referred to our Del Barba Zinfandel as a wine with 'freshnes, energy and balance'. He rated it among the top ten of the scores of wines he tasted for the article. In last month's San Francisco Chronicle, Jon Bonne called our Del Barba Zinfandel '...an aromatic, food-loving Zinfandel style that balances brawn and finesse', naming it one of the Top 100 wines of the year. Balance is especially important in Zinfandel, and here we retain the natural flavor of the grape. The wine remains refreshing yet loaded with flavor.

  • Neyers Ranch Conn Valley Merlot 750ML

    Neyers the grapes from our home vineyard in Conn Valley are certified organic and farmed sustainably. It's thick, almost chewy in fact, and is deliciously soft. The aroma is of wild cherries and mint. We opened a bottle of 1997 Merlot at our Wine Club party last month and it showed brilliantly. Be sure to set a few bottles of this aside for some additional bottle age.

    The Hayne Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of berry, vanilla and spice. On the palate, a nice combination of cherry and wild berry fruit is married with an enchanting mix of vanilla and herb. Toasty oak adds an intriguing nuance to the flavors, while the texture is round and soft. This wine is remarkably balanced and shows beautifully, even in its youth

  • Niepoort Ruby Port 750ML

    At Niepoort we believe that the colour of the Port should be inspired by the "ruby stone". Niepoort Ruby is fresh, young and fruity. An expressive Port with great character. Ruby keeps well for several years, although the wine will not improve with age. No decanting is necessary since the wine contains no sediment. The wine comes from low yielding old vineyards in the Cima Corgo Region of the Douro Valley. The grapes are predominantly trodden in Lagares, prior to ageing in large wooden vats at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia and bottled with an average age of 3 years. Dark red in colour, with a fresh vibrant aroma of dark fruits which follows through on the palate along with a mineral character, a youthful wine with good extract and great balance, offering superb "drinkability".

  • Niepoort Tawny Port 750ML

    To produce a Port Wine with a fine and balanced flavour, Niepoort Tawny ages in oak casks for 3,5 years. Freshness, lightness and balance are the key elements of this wine. A Port easy to drink on any occasion. Tawny has a shiny bright colour and soft and sweet tannins. Tawny Port keeps well for several years, although the wine will not improve with age. It contains no sediment and does not neet to be decanted. Niepoort tawny, with an average age of three and a half years, originates from low yielding vineyards in the Cima corgo region of the Douro Valley. The grapes are predominantly trodden in lagares, prior to ageing in small old oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia. Brick red/tawny in colour, with delicate nutty aromas and a hint of dried fruits. On the palate, very well balanced with a youthful fruity, luscious character, which integrates well with a long spirity finish. A versatile wine, which goes well with chocolate desserts and can also be served slightly chilled as an aperitif or with pâtés or fois gras.

  • Northstar Merlot Columbia Valley 750ML

    "This vintage has rich concentrated aromas of cherry, raspberry and chocolate that lead into flavors of cinnamon and vanilla. It is a subtle and soft with a lingering toasted oak finish. This wine was created to enjoy now, or for many years to come as it will age gracefully. Enjoy!”

  • NxNW Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 750ML

    This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley opens with a faint black cherry bouquet with a hint of black currant. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, friendly and easy going. The flavor profile is a gentle oak infused black cherry with notes of mild red currant. I also detected a hint of plum. The finish is dry and its fairly moderate tannins linger slightly. I would pair this very food friendly wine with brown rice paella with shrimp.
